Traditional Superfood Smoothie

 

Getting our kids to have all the nutrients and goodness they need for growing bodies and brains can be tricky but this Traditional Superfood Smoothie makes it easy. With the added bonus of liver and/or heart powder (I won’t tell if you won’t), this simple smoothie makes the perfect running late breakfast. Simply double the quantities and you’ll be starting your day right too.

The creamy, nutty flavour of this Traditional Superfood Smoothie will appeal to even the fussiest of eaters, the ‘I don’t want to eat breakfast’ crowd and those who say they are too busy to have breakfast, ensuring they start their day on the right foot.

This GPA Wholefoods recipe also includes Motion Potion - a naturopathically formulated, complete bowel food that is suitable for all ages.


Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 small (or 1/2 large) banana

  • 1 cup milk of choice (or 1/2 milk and 1/2 filtered water)

  • 1/4 tsp Thankfully Nourished liver powder or 3 caps heart caps, opened and sprinkled in

  • 1/2 tsp Motion Potion

  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil

  • 1/2 tsp ghee

  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey

  • a few nuts (optional)

  • 1 egg yolk (optional)

Method

  1. Blend everything except egg yolk on high till well combined.

  2. Add egg yolk and blend gently for a few seconds.

  3. Serve!
